First ever cohousing project in Alexandria!

606 N WASHINGTON ST, ALEXANDRIA, VA

The CoHousing community development in Alexandria has targeted a building in the Old Town area at 606 North Washington St. The existing commercial office building is planned to be reconfigured into Alexandria’s first cohousing community with 27 residential units.


This four-story existing building will be fully renovated for individual residences but will offer amenities in the structure, including a rooftop common house for gatherings, meetings, and dinners. From that area, there will be access to a rooftop garden and green spaces with views of the Potomac River and the skyline of Washington DC.


The building which is in the center of the Old Town district of Alexandria is within walking distance to a variety of amenities, including Trader Joe’s, Harris Teeter, banking, coffee shops, fine dining, and the newly developed Alexandria waterfront. In addition, the site is located on the main thoroughfare with full access to the metro and is also designated as part of the National Parks George Washington Parkway that connects DC and the General's home at Mt Vernon.
